The Dutch RCC has judged that a Greenpeace advert is misleading. This
follows a complaint by the Chlorophiles, an organisation of workers from
the chlorine- and PVC industry. In this advert, toys made of soft PVC were
called "those toxic toyies". The RCC has judged that "this wording is too
categorical and therefore misleading". "The word toxic gives the impression
that the toys do present a direct danger for health".
The judgement of the RCC comes one day after that Greenpeace led an
action at Exxon Chemicals, Botlek-Rotterdam, against the use of phthalates
in toys, made of soft PVC. The slogan they used "Stop Toxic Toys" was obviously
misleading there too...

Chlorophiles are a Not-For-Benefit Association of about 2000 workers in the chlorine- and PVC-industry working with responsible care to help producing products for the well-being of mankind. Mankind should not be refused to use chlorine and chlorinated products on the basis of prejudices and faulty information.
